NEC Group Partner with HRCubed for Process Improvement

The workshops were engaging, fun and our team’s feedback was fantastic”

Martina Zdrahalova, HR Shared Services Manager, NEC Group.

The NEC Group is one of the UK’s largest leisure, event and entertainment companies, employing a full time equivalent of 29,000 employees. With a diverse range of venues and brands, which cater for 750 events and service 4 million customers every year through brands such as The Ticket Factory to Amadeus event catering, The NEC Group has an array of employment and workforce management issues to manage, which can make HR and payroll delivery more challenging. In 2017 The NEC Group asked HRCubed to deliver a Human Resources and Payroll Process Improvement Project, delivering a robust and detailed review of processes across the function and across business areas.

As part of this discovery phase, a number of workshops were run to help understand the key challenges and opportunities for process and business improvement in the short- and long-term. Starting in September 2017, these workshops included recommendations for improvement to existing Recruitment, HR, workforce management and Payroll processes as well as delivering a suite of “good practice” HR processes. Martina Zdrahalova, HR Shared Services Manager was determined to ensure that efficiencies were introduced into what has been a very manual and time-consuming way of working. Speaking about the recent engagement with HRCubed, Martina commented: “The workshops were engaging, fun and our team’s feedback was fantastic as they didn’t fully realise the end to end processes and the complexities that they deal with during their day to day delivery, until we were all in the room together. Both Mandy and John were a pleasure to work with and have delivered on budget and to agreed timescales. The outputs are robust and clear and will help us to move forward to the next phase of our project. Thank you both for collaborating with us as a true partnership and for delivering on your promises.”

The NEC Group are now moving forward to implement some of the technical, compliance, organisation, process and policy recommendations and we will look forward to reviewing the improvements and successes in the coming months.
